Who owns keep-alive

A demo that works once isn't a hire. Someone has to own the loop when it quietly dies on Tuesday.

Most AI projects fail after the screenshot.

The first run looks sharp. The inbox is clean. The team claps. Then a vendor changes an API, a label moves, a human yes gets skipped, and the loop stops. Nobody notices until the founder is the glue again.

That's keep-alive. It's the boring half of the hire.

Demo thinking means proving the agent can do the steps once. You still watch the logs, chase the breakage, and restart the thing when it goes quiet.

Hire thinking means one named ops loop runs in email or WhatsApp, and someone else owns keep-alive. We build it, wire it into the tools you already use, and monitor it so it doesn't quietly die. You keep the yes when money or customers are on the line.

That's the fence I sell against DIY platforms and chat packs.

A platform can be powerful. It also turns your team into the platform team. A chatbot can draft. It still leaves the loop open. Neither one owns keep-alive for you.

What keep-alive looks like in practice:

  • The agent lives where the work already lives, not in a new dashboard to babysit
  • Breaks and stalls get watched, not discovered in a Friday fire drill
  • Updates and kickoffs land in email or WhatsApp
  • Edge cases that touch money or customers wait for a human

Traplinked didn't need another tool to check. They needed monthly billing to keep running after the first good week. Moritz sends an email; invoices, payments, and customer emails run end to end. We own keep-alive. He owns the yes when it matters.

Here's what we turn down as a first hire:

  • A one-off demo with no owner after ship
  • A DIY build your team has to nurse forever
  • Automating five loops before one is boringly reliable
  • Anything with no clear "done" and no human gate

If you can name the loop that already steals a fixed chunk of the week, you're ready to talk keep-alive. If you can't, you're not under-tooled. You're under-scoped.

If you want us to look at whether your loop fits, email us the loop

Ready to put one loop on autopilot?

Name the recurring ops loop that eats your week. We build a production agent in the tools you already use (usually email or WhatsApp), wire it in, and monitor it so it keeps running. When a decision is needed, a human is in the loop. You own the outcome. We own the agent.
