Hire for the job

Most AI buying looks like headcount math.

You add one more seat, one more login, and one more assistant that can draft, summarize, and chat. Then Monday arrives and the same person still owns the loop. They qualify the inbound, chase the renewal, clear the content queue, and answer "where's my thing."

The seat worked fine. You just bought the wrong unit of work.

A seat gives you access. A job gives you ownership.

Seat thinking means buying tools and hoping someone on your team wires the loop. You still open the inbox, decide the edge case, and remember what "done" looks like.

Job thinking means naming one recurring ops task that already eats a fixed chunk of the week and hiring for that task. The agent lives where the work already lives, in email or WhatsApp. We build it, wire it, and monitor it. You keep the yes when money or customers are on the line.

If you can point at one of those jobs, or write your loop in one sentence, you're ready to scope it. If you can't, another seat won't help either.

Pick the job that already has a clear "done." If two compete for first place, pick the one that takes the most founder or ops hours and can wait for a human gate.
